On August 24, 2009, FMEG submitted an application on behalf of Bryant College to dramatically increase to coverage area of WJMF (Smithfield, RI).
The power increase is possible because stations operating in the reserved band are no longer required to protect analog TV6 stations.
The Media Bureau granted that application on September 21, 2009.
