FCC Permits AM on FM Translators

Amendment of Service and Eligibility Rules for FM Broadcast Translator Stations, Report and Order (R&O), MB Docket 07-172, FCC 09-59, released June 30, 2009.   FM translator station rules were amended to allow AM broadcast stations to retransmit their signals over FM translators. AM Class D ‘daytimer’ stations may originate programming on FM translators during periods when the AM signal is off the air.
